Knitting WIPs and Plans - First Quarter

So I've got a lot of things on the needles right now. They're all listed on Ravelry, but I want to put them here in priority order as well. I think it probably only works for me to have 3-4 active WIPs at once and it's nice if the weights vary, but not critical.

(N.B. I am not currently counting hibernating projects, they can stay where they are but will be accounted for in The Great Accountening and included in State of the Stash)

Things I want to actually focus on:

  • De-Lovely skirt (worsted): just re-started. This is my CECO and I'd like it done while there's plenty of winter left. This is project 1.
  • Blue hat (sport): recently started, almost done. This is project 2.
  • AWTWB Homefront (fingering): I don't know where I am on this, but I want to wear it this summer so I'd better crack on. Will pick this up when De-Lovely is done. This will be project 1.
  • The Slayer (fingering): Would be nice to wear this winter, but want it done for next winter definitely. Will pick this up when AWTWB is done. This will be project 1.

Lower-priority WIPs - these are either small things that should whip up quick, or things that I am cool just kind of chipping away at long-term:

  • Marvelous Berets (fingering): One is started, definitely want to have two. Would be nice to have the pair next winter. Get this out when the blue hat is done. This will be project 2.
  • Socks (fingering): I've got two pairs on the needles, plus "sleevies" which is kinda sock-ish but laceweight. These have been sitting a while and are kinda lower priority, can be picked up after the berets. Will be project 2.
  • Rather Exquisite Cashmere (lace): long-term. This is project 3, but can be swapped out for a Reichenbach if I need a break from the charts.
  • Hedgerow Haori (bulky): long-term. Good for a change of gauge. This is project 4.

So what this means is that I've got essentially 4 categories of projects. The goal is to have only one active WIP of each, though I'm allowing REC to go dormant since it's so focus intensive (other project should be finished before swapping REC back in though). For first quarter (and possibly just the whole year depending on how this goes) the goal is to get down to 4 WIPs as such:

  1. Full-size garments, any gauge
  2. Accessories, mainly fingering weight but can be any
  3. Shawls, fingering or laceweight
  4. Something large in a heavy gauge - wrap, blanket, shawl, etc.
